Finally, after a long enough wait, the official trailer of Tekken 8 has been released at the Game Awards. Being the trailer of one of the most anticipated games, it gives a clear glimpse of the story. As for the sneak peek at the story, Kazuya Mishima can be seen as the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu. These events have took place after the demise of his father, Heihachi Mishima. That story is from Tekken 7, you know it if you’ve completed the story mode in the game.

Not only this, but multiple characters from the past are making a re-entry in the game, like Law, Lars, Jack, King, and Paul Phoenix. One of the most important highlights of the game will be the redebut of Jun Kazama, mother of Jin Kazama and the Wife of Kazuya Mishima. She has never made an appearance in a core Tekken game since the launch of Tekken 2. Speculations are that she will play an important role in the story, similar to Kazuya’s mother, Kazumi Mishima, in Tekken 7. Tekken 8 was promised to release in the EVO 2022 in August, where a teaser of the game was showcased. The first mini teaser of the game consisted of the main antagonist of the series, Kazuya Mishima.

Tekken 8 trailer breakdown

The trailer starts with Jin Kazama drowning in water and a hand from a mystery character surrounded by black fumes trying to pull him out of the water. Just after that, we get to see Jin Kazama riding a bike in a city like Tokyo. The glimpse of Kazuya Mishima in his devil form is bone-chilling. Further, the city billboards say Leroy, which can be a reference to the character Leroy from the Tekken universe, followed by the appearance of a mystical character with demon wings shooting blue light.

In this Tekken 8 trailer breakdown, we will further talk about other characters. First things first, Paul Phoenix, that one character with a spikes hairstyle, can be seen in a completely different look with an anime kind of hairstyle. Lee from the Tekken universe looks pretty ripped and similar to Bruce Lee. Jack 8 has also gone through decent modification with a cyclops-like vision prowess and a dress-up makeover. While on the other hand, we get to see King in his almost similar attire with little changes.

One thing which we are sure of is that the game will bring new rage attacks for all the characters. The game trailer also features Lars giving a beating to Jack 8. Moving towards the end, we can see Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima in front of each other. It can be deduced that they are all set to kick-start a war.

The trailer also confirms in an attack move by Jin that he has now merged with the Devil Jin. As soon as Devil Jin starts beating Kazuya in his normal form, the trailer transitions into a scene like an afterworld. In the mentioned scene, some female entity blesses Jin by cleansing him with the negative gene overpowering him. The trailer concludes with Tekken 8 animation and a title announcement at the end.

What can we expect?

Until now, there is only this much detail available regarding the upcoming game. Expectations are that we will get to know more as soon as the launch date inches closer. It will be interesting to see how the audience reacts to Tekken 8 after almost six years of the Tekken 7 launch.
