The realme GT 7 is set to launch in India on May 27, 2025, alongside the realme GT 7T, marking a significant release for the performance-driven GT series. Powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset, the GT 7 promises top-tier performance with its advanced hardware. Ahead of the launch, we’ve conducted synthetic benchmarks and real-world tests to evaluate its capabilities in both regular and GT modes. Let’s dive into the specifications and see how this device performs.

realme GT 7 Hardware Specifications

realme GT 7

The realme GT 7 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset, featuring an octa-core CPU configuration: 1x 3.4 GHz Cortex-X4, 3x 2.85 GHz Cortex-X4, and 4x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A720 cores. On the graphics side, it sports the Immortalis G720 MC12 GPU, for high-end gaming and graphics-intensive tasks.

The device comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, which is the fastest in the segment. Our test unit has the following configuration: 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. It runs on Android 15 with realme UI 6.0. Additionally, the GT 7 includes a vapor cooling system to manage thermals during intensive workloads.

realme GT 7 Synthetic Benchmarks

We ran a series of benchmarks to assess the Dimensity 9400e’s performance, comparing GT mode and non-GT mode. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the results:

1. AnTuTu

  • GT Mode: 2,236,357 (CPU: 511,113, GPU: 903,304, MEM: 407,233, UX: 384,707).
  • Non-GT Mode: 1,863,778 (CPU: 476,321, GPU: 636,355, MEM: 393,555, UX: 357,547).

The scores are impressive in both modes. But here, GT mode delivers a significant performance boost, with a ~20% higher overall score. The GPU benefits the most, showing a 42% improvement in GT mode, though the CPU score drops slightly, possibly due to thermal throttling.

2. Geekbench 6 (CPU)

  • GT Mode: Single-Core: 2,264, Multi-Core: 7,457.
  • Non-GT Mode: Single-Core: 2,187, Multi-Core: 7,233.

Again, impressive scores in both modes. GT mode improves single-core performance by 3.5% and multi-core by 3.1%, but the difference isn’t significant.

3. Geekbench 6 (GPU)

  • GT Mode: OpenCL: 14,999, Vulkan: 14,942
  • Non-GT Mode: OpenCL: 15,074, Vulkan: 15,919.

Surprisingly, the non-GT mode slightly boosts OpenCL performance by 0.4% and Vulkan by 6%. This inconsistency is common when running benchmarks. Nonetheless, the scores are impressive here as well.

4. Solar Bay (Ray Tracing)

  • GT Mode: Overall: 8,117, Average FPS: 30.86 (Section 1: 33.46, Section 2: 31.13, Section 3: 27.58).
  • Non-GT Mode: Overall: 8,069, Average FPS: 30.68 (Section 1: 32.64, Section 2: 31.18, Section 3: 27.70).

The GT mode slightly outperforms non-GT mode in ray tracing, with a 0.6% higher score and better FPS in Section 1. This is expected, as GT mode should enhance graphics performance.

5. Storage Test

  • Overall: 207,427
  • Sequential Read: 4,072 MB/s, Sequential Write: 3,573 MB/s.
  • Random Read: 1,528 MB/s, Random Write: 960 MB/s.
  • AI Read: 424 MB/s.

Storage performance is impressive, with sequential read/write speeds exceeding 4,000 MB/s. This is indeed using UFS 4.0 storage.

6. CPU Throttling Test (GT Mode)

  • Max: 585,896 GIPS, Average: 535,508 GIPS, Min: 478,091 GIPS.
  • CPU throttled to 85% of max performance.
  • Temperature: 33.4°C, Battery: 7%.

The device maintains solid performance with minimal throttling (15%) during the test, and thermals are well-controlled at 33.4°C.

realme GT 7 Performance Insights

The realme GT 7’s Dimensity 9400e chipset delivers strong performance, though it lags behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the GT 7 Pro (AnTuTu: 2,734,614 in GT mode). GT mode generally enhances performance, particularly in AnTuTu (20% higher) and Geekbench CPU tests (3–3.5% higher), but its impact is inconsistent some other tests.

Thermal management is great, with the device staying under acceptable temperatures during the benchmark tests. Of course, we need to do more testing to evaluate the performance of the realme GT 7 and hence we tested some games.
