TL;DR

  • A blog has secured an image from Alibaba which contains two dummy units of the iPhone SE 4 in two different sizes.
  • However, the company is highly unlikely to launch a Plus model for the SE lineup.

Apple’s iPhone SE 4 could debut earlier next year with an iPhone 14-inspired design and support for Apple Intelligence. However, earlier today, rumors about the iPhone SE 4 featuring a “Plus” variant started circulating on the internet, citing information from the Japanese blog Mac Otakara.

Apparently, the blog has secured an image from Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce platform, which contains two dummy units of the iPhone SE 4, one with a 6.1-inch screen (similar to iPhone 14) and the other with a 6.7-inch (similar to iPhone 14 Plus) screen. However, the renowned publication MacRumors strongly declines the rumor.

The publication reached out to Mac Otakara regarding the image, only to get the following statement as an answer: “It is possible that only the 6.1-inch model will actually be released.” Further, the blog itself mentions that the final design hasn’t been decided, which doesn’t instill much confidence.

iPhone SE 4 Plus Isn’t Plausible: Here’s Why

In addition, Apple hasn’t released a Plus model for the iPhone SE ever. The key demographic for the smartphone wouldn’t care much about a larger phone, primarily because the SE edition is known for providing all the essential features at a relatively affordable price point.

And as far as the larger iPhone SE 4 is concerned, it could hamper the sales of the iPhone 15 Plus or the iPhone 16 Plus, something Apple wouldn’t want. Hence, unless further evidence surfaces, we believe that Apple is highly unlikely to launch an iPhone SE 4 Plus.
