How Does The Tinder Double Date Feature Work?
To access the Double Date feature, Tinder users must tap on the two smiley emoji icons at the top right of the screen. Then, users can invite up to three friends to form a pair (typically, the Double Date feature includes the user and a friend). Following this, their Tinder profiles are showcased side-by-side on the app’s Discovery feed (along with photos and descriptions for both individuals).
Once a pair is floated on Tinder, it is shown in the Discovery feed to other pairs, and a match occurs when one person from each pair swipes right on the other pair. In other words, only one like is required per pair to start a conversation. Upon matching, a group chat opens for all four users (two from each pair) to communicate and plan a double date.
