Top 10 CNG Cars: Affordable Options Under Rs 20 Lakh in India

As the consumption of CNG vehicles is increasing day by day in India, many automakers are coming forward to address this rising trend of CNG vehicles offering factory-fitted CNG kits in all segments. Starting from small cars to big cars, large number of options are available for the buyers who want to save money and the environment. Here’s a rundown of the top 10 recently launched CNG cars under the Rs 20 lakh:

1.Tata Tiago     

– Recently launched with Tata’s i-CNG and an Automated Manual Transmission. – Powered by a 1. 2-litre petrol engine that produces 73 PS and 95 Nm when run on CNG. – It has a stated fuel efficiency of as low as 26. 49 km/kg. – Currently, it is produced in different trim levels with the starting price of Rs. 6. 59 lakh to 8.89 lakh

2.Tata Punch

-It is packed with i-CNG technology from Tata, and offers as much practicality as it does features. – It is driven by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a power output of 73.5 PS and 103 Nm in a CNG mode. – Deductions from the aforesaid facts suggest that it has a mileage of ‘27 km/kg. ’ – Currently available in four models and comes at a price range of Rs 7.22 to Rs 9. 84 lakh (ex-showroom).

 3. Hyundai Exter    

– It will built on the Grand i10 Nios with improved dimension and high ground clearance. – It is powered by a 1. 2-litre petrol engine, giving 69 PS and 95. 2 Nm in CNG mode. – Available in two trim levels S and SX and cost Rs 8. 43 lakh and Rs 9.16 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

 4. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor   

– Comes with a 1. 2-litre CNG powertrain developing 77 PS of power and 98 Nm of torque. – Limited only to the base ‘E’ version which comes with the price tag of Rs 8.71 lakh (ex-showroom).

5. Maruti Suzuki Fronx

 -Recently introduced with CNG variants, featuring a 1. 2-litre petrol engine. Offers 77. 5 PS and 98.5 Nm in CNG mode. Off late, tvs has silently launched this motorcycle available in Sigma and Delta trims with a price tag of Rs 8. 46 lakh and Rs 9. 32 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

 6. Tata Altroz

 -Alongside a diesel engine, CNG derivatives for many models are now offered. The body is 2-door and 4-door coupe, 2-litre NA engine, 73.5 PS and 103 Nm in CNG mode. With one engine option and available in three variants, Honda WRV price starts at Rs 7. 59 lakh to Rs 10. 64 lakh (ex-showroom).

7. Maruti Suzuki Brezza

 -One of the most popular compact SUVs and now available in CNG options. Equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine is there which gives 87. 8 PS and 121. 5 Nm in CNG mode. It can be availed in all the trims starting from Rs 9.29 lakh to Rs 12. 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

8. Toyota Rumion

 -The Toyota Nigeria Limited launched a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga with a 1. 5-litre petrol engine. Develops 88 PS and 121. 5 Nm in CNG mode and this is explained by the fact that the CNG mode works in tandem with the engine management system to control the torque. Available in the base ‘S’ trim, which starts at Rs 11.39 lakh (ex-showroom).

9. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

-CNG variant along with other options. Available in Delta and Zeta variants, it is, surprisingly, priced at Rs 13. 15 lakh and Rs 14. 96 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Powered by a 1. 5-litre petrol engine that develops 88 PS and 121.5 Nm  in CNG mode.

10. Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

-Rebate model of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Same engines are offered in this one also. Equipped with a 1. 5-litre engine, with a power output that is equal to that of the Suzuki Grand Vitara. Available in two models – S and G trims, the car costs around Rs 13.71 lakh and  Rs 15. 59 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
