TVS to launch two new E-Scooters in India in March 2025

TVS Motor Company is working on launching two new E-Scooters in India next year. The company aims to expand the two-wheeler portfolio in the country in 2025 and these two E-Scooters are a part of these plans. One of these models might come out in December 2024 while the other is expected to launch in March 2025. The plans were revealed by TVS Motors’ Chief Executive who discussed the EV plans during an investor call. Currently, TVS Motors is offering iQube scooters in a number of versions which have gained huge success in India. Apart from iQube, there is an X Sports E-Scooter as well, but the deliveries for the same haven’t started to date.

TVS New E-Scooters

According to a report by Bikewale, TVS is working on a variety of electric scooters along with an electric motorcycle that is tipped to have an affordable price tag. The report also confirms that TVS Motors is planning to launch an electric version of Jupiter soon. There are plans for EV for the B2B segment which might be called XL Electric.

Recently two names were trademarked by TVS Motors for its electric vehicles- E-XL and XL EV. These two vehicles might be upcoming e-scooters out of which one might launch at the 2025 Bharat Expo followed by official on-roading in March 2025.

Adoption and shift to EVs is still very slow in India as it hasn’t even reached double digits. However, automakers like TVS Motors believe that the future is bright in this market. There is loads of scope for growth. Until August 2024, TVS became the second biggest producer in the two-wheeler EV market in India, just behind Ola Electric. The company aims to build on these numbers in 2025 and thus has elaborate plans to expand the EV portfolio in the country.
