Elon Musk, who now owns Twitter one of the most popular social media platforms in the world, has introduced a new logo for Twitter as part of the platform’s rebrand. The logo features a minimalist art deco design with an “X.” While Musk acknowledged that the design might undergo further changes and refinements, Twitter’s CEO, Linda Yaccarino, confirmed the choice of the new logo with enthusiasm.

Musk had asked his 149 million followers for design ideas and ultimately selected a logo that he had previously showcased through a flickering video on his Twitter feed.

The “X” logo holds special significance for Musk, representing his vision for an “everything app” concept that he intends to launch in the future. This concept draws inspiration from WeChat, a Chinese app renowned for its multifunctionality, enabling users to perform various tasks such as messaging, taxi booking, and bill payments. Musk envisions Twitter as a potential vehicle for realizing his ambitious “everything app” idea.

Yaccarino shed some light on the workings of this future venture, describing it as an artificial intelligence-powered platform centered around audio, video, messaging, and payments/banking services. While the Twitter app itself still retains its signature bluebird logo as of Monday morning, the official Twitter account has already adopted the new “X” logo as part of the upcoming rebranding efforts.
