Upcoming Cars In December 2025

1. Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara

Maruti e-Vitara
  • Release Date: December 2, 2025

After months of rumored launch dates and delays, Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to reveal its first electric car in India, a compact SUV, on December 2, 2025. The automaker unveiled this eSUV in India at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025.

In India, the e-Vitara could launch at around Rs. 17 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the base variant. This is likely the launch price for the 49 kWh (142 bhp) battery pack, but there’s also a 61 kWh (172 bhp) option (which should offer up to 500 kilometers of real-world range).

On the front, the e-Vitara features a three-point matrix of LED DRLs, projector headlamps, and a modern design language we’re seeing across recent Maruti Suzuki ICE models. The car will also feature 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, while the rear sports three-point matrix tail lamps.

Additional features include a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, reclining rear seats, seven airbags, Level-2 ADAS with autonomous functions, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and ambient charging. Then there’s a 10.25-inch infotainment screen (wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display.

In India, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and the MG Windsor EV.

2. Tata Safari & Harrier Petrol

Tata Safari
  • Release Date: December 9, 2025

With the Sierra, Tata launched a new 1.5-liter direct-injection turbo-petrol engine that produces 160hp and 255 Nm. Turns out, the engine is also coming to the Tata Safari and Tata Harrier on December 9, 2025.

Until now, both the SUVs — Safari and Harrier — are available with Tata’s familiar and reliable 2.0L engine. However, the launch of turbo petrol engines could make the cars more accessible. The new engine should be available with a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed torque-converter transmission.

While the petrol-based Harrier and Safari could be more affordable than the diesel models, they’ll surely be more expensive on the pocket, particularly in terms of fuel economy.

3. 2026 Kia Seltos

  • Release Date: December 10, 2025

The first teaser for the 2026 Kia Seltos was released earlier today, confirming its existence and arrival. In the teaser, we can see the new, revamped front fascia with the rearranged light setup we’ve seen camouflaged on the test units.

To me, the new-generation Kia Seltos looks similar to Kia’s global models, especially the Telluride. On the front, the Seltos will feature a “Tiger Face” grille, vertical DRLs, and a C-shaped headlight setup (with integrated LED signature).

Among the other highlights of the upcoming Seltos are retractable door handles, a panoramic sunroof, an LED welcome animation for the front light setup, blacked-out pillars, black roof rails, and a connected LED light bar similar to that of the Carens Clavis on the back.

The 2026 Kia Seltos arrives in Korea on December 10, 2025. However, the automaker plans to bring the car to India in 2026, likely during the early months or the first half of the year. As and when the car arrives in India, it will rival established players like the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and Grand Vitara, and so on.

The upcoming Seltos is said to be much longer than the outgoing model, which could give it an edge over rivals like the Hyundai Creta.

4. Mini Cooper Convertible

Mini Cooper Convertible
  • Release Date: December 2025

Mini India is all set to reveal the Cooper Convertible later this month. Although the automaker hasn’t announced a date yet, it could indicate the pricing in the second half of the month.

Pre-booking of the car has already been underway since November. With the new model, buyers get the classic British design combined with modern technology. The vehicle offers an electronic soft top that can open up or close in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 kmph.

Under the hood, the Mini Cooper Convertible will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 201 bhp. More details about the convertible should surface online in the coming days.
