Qualcomm recently launched its flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile processor. The chipset brings a faster CPU and GPU compared to previous models, an upgraded AI NPU, and support for the new APV codec to improve video quality.
Brands such as Xiaomi, iQOO, vivo, and OnePlus have confirmed their upcoming flagships will use this processor. Below is a list of phones that will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, including their specifications and India launch details where available. Let’s dive in.

1. Xiaomi 17 Series

The Xiaomi 17 includes a 6.36-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. RAM goes up to 16GB LPDDR5X. Cameras include a 50MP main with Leica tuning, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP 2.6X telephoto. There’s a 7,000 mAh battery with support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The 17 Pro includes a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display (6.9-inch Pro Max) with 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP 5X telephoto, along with a 6,300mAh (7,500 mAh on Pro Max) battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The 17 Pro Max adds satellite connectivity in select variants. The series was launched in China on September 29, 2024; India launch is expected in March 2026.
2. iQOO 15

The iQOO 15 will include a 6.82-inch 2K+ LTPO AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. RAM will go up to 16GB LPDDR5X. Storage will go up to 1TB UFS 4.0. Cameras will include a 50MP main sensor, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP periscope.

A 7,000 mAh battery will support 120W wired charging. IP68 rating will be present. Halo RGB lighting will be around the camera module. The phone will launch in China this October; India launch is expected in December 2025.

3. OnePlus 15

The OnePlus 15 will include a 6.82-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. RAM will go up to 24GB LPDDR5X. Storage will go up to 1TB UFS 4.0.
Cameras will include a 50MP main with Sony LYT-808 sensor, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP 3.7X periscope telephoto. A 7,800 mAh battery will support 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. IP68 and IP69 rating will be present. The build will use an aluminum unibody. The phone will launch in China in October; India launch is also expected during the same month.

4. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will include a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. RAM will go up to 16GB. Storage will go up to 1TB. The edges are going to get a bit more rounded.
Cameras will include a 200MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 10MP 3X telephoto, and 50MP 5X periscope telephoto. A 5,000mAh battery will support 60W wired and 15W wireless charging. IP68 rating will be present. S Pen support will also be included.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra will launch globally in January 2025; India launch should align with the global rollout.

5. realme GT 8 Pro

The realme GT 8 Pro will include a 6.78-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. RAM will go up to 16GB LPDDR5X. Storage will go up to 1TB UFS 4.0.
Cameras will include a 50MP main sensor, 50MP ultrawide, and 200MP 3X periscope telephoto. It will feature a detachable camera module design. We’re expecting a 7,500 to 8,000 mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging. IP69 rating will be present. It will include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The realme GT 8 Pro will launch in China next month i.e., October 2025; India launch should happen in the same month too. realme has also already claimed that their phone will be the first in India to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.

6. vivo X300 Ultra

The vivo X300 Ultra will include a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. RAM will go up to 16GB LPDDR5X. Storage will go up to 1TB UFS 4.0.
Cameras will include a 50MP 35mm main 1/1.1-inch sensor, 50MP ultrawide, and 200MP periscope telephoto with 3.7X optical zoom. We are expecting a huge battery with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. A blueprint imaging chip will also be featured.
The phone is expected to launch in China during April 2026, but we are not sure about an India launch.
7. OPPO Find X9 Ultra

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra will also feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. It will include a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Cameras are expected to include a 50MP main 1/1.1-inch sensor, 50MP ultrawide, 200MP 3X periscope telephoto, and 200MP 6X periscope telephoto.
We’re expecting a massive battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone is expected to launch in China during February/March 2026, but we are not sure about an India launch.
8. HONOR Magic 8 Series

The HONOR Magic 8 and 8 Pro will also feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Both devices will be focused on cameras and delivering an all-round flagship experience. These might not make it to India and stay China/Europe-exclusive. Anyway, the launch is expected next month in China i.e., October 2025.
