April 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting months for smartphone enthusiasts, not just because of the variety of devices from different brands, but also because intense competition is pushing them to deliver something truly exceptional. They’re mostly mid-rangers, but with specs that you haven’t seen before in the segment. Without any further ado, let’s dive right into the list of the upcoming smartphone launches in April 2026.

Upcoming Smartphone Launches In April 2026

Realme 16 5G

  • Launch Date: April 2, 2026 (Confirmed)

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer realme is gearing up to unveil the rightful successor to its number series — the realme 16 5G. The handset is positioned squarely for young buyers or budding creators. Why? With a 50MP Sony primary camera on the back, the phone also features a selfie mirror and a ring flash, allowing users to capture high-quality self-portraits.

Other confirmed specifications include a 7,000 mAh battery with 60W fast charging, a 6.57-inch AMOLED display (4,200 nits), a 50MP selfie camera, an IP69 rating, and an 8.1 mm side profile. Out of the box, the phone should run on realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16. Beyond this, rumored specifications include the Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

Redmi Note 15 SE 5G

  • Launch Date: April 2, 2026 (Confirmed)

From what I can see, the Note 15 SE 5G is a cosmetic refresh of the standard Note 15 5G rather than a hardware leap. The red vegan leather finish with a gold frame does give it a unique look, but underneath, it should share its specifications with the baseline handset of the series. Furthermore, I believe the smartphone won’t ship with a charger.

Among the rumored specifications are a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, a 108MP primary camera, and a 5,520 mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. The phone could debut at a sub-Rs.20,000 price point, which could be reasonable.

vivo V70 FE

  • Launch Date: April 2, 2026 (Confirmed)

The vivo V70 FE marks the brand’s first “Fan Edition” in the V-series, and it will arrive with a clear objective: deliver headline camera specs at a more affordable price. It is confirmed to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen (120Hz refresh rate), 200MP primary camera (with OIS) for photography enthusiasts, 32MP selfie shooter, and a massive 7,000 mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging.

Under the hood, the phone will feature the Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset and up to 12GB of RAM. Out of the box, it should run on OriginOS 6 and feature dual ingress protection ratings. The expected price of the handset is around Rs. 35,000.

OnePlus Nord 6

Launch Date: April 7, 2026 (Confirmed)

One of the most feature-packed mid-rangers — the OnePlus Nord 6 — will also break cover in April, on the 7th of the month. The handset is confirmed to feature a 165Hz OLED display (first in the segment), runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage), and, most importantly, sports a 9,000 mAh battery, which is the largest on a OnePlus smarpthone till date.

Among the rumored specs include 50MP LYT600 primary camera with optical image stabilization and 80W fast wired charging. The price tag, as far as I speculate, could be around Rs. 38,000 for the baseline variant.

AI+ Nova 2 & Nova 2 Ultra

Launch Date: April 9, 2026 (Confirmed)

AI+, founded by the former realme India chief Madhav Sheth, is launching two new smartphones in India on April 9, 2026 — Nova 2 and Nova 2 Ultra. The smartphones are being positioned around identity and self-expression.

The talking point of the series, for now, happens to be the Nova 2 Ultra’s back panel, which features a circular, customisable light (think the MagSafe cutout, but without wireless charging support, with an LED light ring). Other specifications, including a Unisoc chipset, HD+ LCD display, and 18W charging, could also be compelling, depending on how AI+ prices the smartphone.

The Nova 2 could feature a 6.75-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP primary camera, and an around Rs. 10,000 launch price. The Nova 2 Ultra could also share the Unisoc T8200 chipset with the baseline version, but with a slightly larger battery (6,000 mAh battery).

Oppo Find X9 Ultra

Launch Date: April 21, 2026 (Confirmed)

If camera enthusiasts are excited for an upcoming smartphone, it is the Find X9 Ultra. The company has finally announced a global launch date for the handset, revealed via its X account. This will be the first Ultra model to step outside China.

Confirmed specifications include a 50MP 10x optical telephoto (230 mm) camera 6.82-inch 2K BOE LTPO OLED display (144Hz display rate), and run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Furthermore, the handset will be powered with a 7,050 mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Among the rumored specifications are two 200MP cameras on the back panel (including a primary and a periscope), two 50MP cameras (including a periscope and an ultrawide), and a 50MP front camera. The expected pricing of the smartphone could be around Rs. 1,50,000 for the baseline variant, of course, with launch offers.
