Vivo unveils AR Glass, 120W fast charger and its 5G phone at MWC Shanghai 2019

Its MWC Shanghai and Vivo utilizes this stage to unveil the cutting edge 120W fast charger and debuts its AR glasses as well as a 5G smartphone.  The latter’s name which was kept under the veil could be the rumored iQOO phone. The AR glasses, albeit a prototype does displays various exciting case scenarios. As for its fast charging tech, Vivo vouches for its ability to fully charge a phone in just 13 minutes.

Its 2019 and we are at the cusp of 5G transition. While several other brands have already teased or revealed their 5G phones, Vivo doesn’t want to be left behind. It has finally demoed its first commercial 5G phone. It is expected to launch in Q3, 2019 and could be christened Vivo iQOO 5G.

Apart from the underlying Snapdragon 855 chipset, Vivo has revamped a complicated 3D layout for lower fuel consumption. Qin Fei, the director of Vivo’s 5G R&D center, claims that 5G networks will provide 5-10 times faster data speeds, reduce latency by 10ms, allow more connections and allow carriers to increase the data caps.

This opens up more applications in the realm of gaming and AR/VR realities.

Vivo AR Glass

The Vivo AR Glass which is what it is called as was connected to the brand’s unnamed 5G phone. It’s a 110-inch 3D screen. The five use case scenarios mentioned were: gaming, “5G theatre,” facial recognition, object recognition, and office work.

Vivo is yet to spill details on the pricing and availability of the AR Glass. However, as already mentioned, while the 5G phone arrives around the third quarter of 2019, we could expect it to be equipped with 120W stupid fast charging and this AR gear.
