After months of rumors and anticipation, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer vivo has unveiled the X200 Ultra. While it is the first model in the X200 lineup to run on a Snapdragon chip, it is also the only variant to support an optional 200mm zoom lens and a retro-style photography kit.
Aimed at photography enthusiasts, the X200 Ultra offers plenty of features to play around with, so without any further ado, let’s discuss everything about the handset.

On the front, the X200 Ultra features a quad-curved screen with a centrally located punch-hole. While the volume rockers and power button are located on the right frame, there is a large camera cutout on the back panel, which protrudes significantly.
Like its siblings, the handset also features IP69 and IP68 dust/water resistance ratings.

Processor

Unlike the other models in the vivo X200 lineup that feature the Dimensity 9400 SoC, the X200 Ultra sports the Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm) chipset. The chipset features two 4.32 GHz prime cores and six 3.53 GHz performance cores.
Paired with the Adreno 830 GPU, the chipset offers enough horsepower to run the most demanding video games or handle the most extensive workflows for a smartphone. Like the X200 Pro (review), the X200 Ultra is also available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Out of the box, the X200 Ultra runs on OriginOS 5, which is based on Android 15. Further, the company has promised to provide up to four major Android updates and five years of security fixes.

Cameras & Accessories
Regarding optics, the vivo X200 Ultra retains the 50MP (f/1.6, 35mm) Sony LYT-818 primary camera from the X200 Pro, paired with a new 14mm 50MP (f/2.2) ultrawide sensor. On the front, there’s a 50MP (f/2.5, 24mm) selfie shooter with autofocus.
However, the main highlight of the camera system is the 200MP (f/2.7) Samsung HP9 telephoto sensor paired with a new prism-lens technology that increases the light sensitivity.

Besides the exceptional camera sensors and Zeiss optics, the phone has two imaging chips: V3+ and VS1. These use artificial intelligence to process and improve pictures in terms of color, background blur, dynamic range, clarity, and other aspects.
The brand has also unveiled an add-on zoom lens (f/2.3, 200mm) developed with Zeiss, which increases the optical zoom range to 8.7x.
In addition, there’s a retro-style photography kit that provides manual controls, a dedicated button for recording videos, and a 2300 mAh additional battery pack for extended photography/videography sessions.
Speaking of videography, the vivo X200 Ultra also supports 4K recording at 120 fps. Professionals can also capture 4K videos at 60 fps and 10-bit log. And yes, the handset can also shoot 8K videos at 30 fps.

Battery & Charging
Powering the handset is a 6,000 mAh SiC battery that supports 100W wired and 30W wireless charging. The battery also supports reverse wired and wireless charging, allowing users to charge their peripherals with the device.
Connectivity options on the X200 Ultra include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band GPS, NFC, an IR Blaster, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port for charging and data transfer. Additional features include an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner and Emergency SOS on the top-specced variant.

The X200 Ultra starts from CNY 6,499 for the baseline variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Then there are two more variants: 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB, which are available for CNY 6999 and CNY 7999 respectively.
