Vivo to launch X70 Pro+ as its first water and dust resistant phone in India on Sep 30

Vivo is getting ready to launch the X70 series in India later this month. The lineup includes three phones viz. the Vivo X70, Vivo X70 Pro, and Vivo X70 Pro+. All three phones had gone official in China last week. And now the phone is on its way to India soon. The company has posted a teaser page with the countdown for the launch day. It says 13 days, 20 hours from now which means the Vivo X70 series is set the launch in India on September 30.

Now out of the three, the X70 Pro+ is the top-rung model. And it will be the first Vivo phone with an IP68 rating and 50W Qi wireless charging support in India.

Vivo X70 Pro+ Highlights

vivo X70 Pro+ Chinese variant ships with Snapdragon 888+ chipset and recent Google Play Console listing suggests the same chip to power the phone in India. This makes it the first phone to wield this SoC in the country.

Further, the internals is likely to hold up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery. Again, the device will be the first Vivo phone to support 50W fast Qi wireless charging.

Upfront, the Chinese variant of the Vivo X70 Pro+ sports a 6.78-inch LTP AMOLED panel with a 1440×3200 pixel resolution, 1 billion colors, HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1000nits peak brightness. It has a central punch hold with a 32MP selfie snapper inside.

As for the rear cameras, you could expect a Zeiss-branded 50MP main camera (with high-transmittance) coupled with a 48MP gimbal-stabilized 114˚ultrawide camera, a 12MP telephoto lens (with PDAF, OIS, 2x optical zoom), and an 8MP periscope lens system (with PDAF, OIS, 5x optical zoom).

Other things in the mix are Android 11 software (with FunTouch UI), WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and ingress protection. Well, not just any rating, but IP68 level of protection against water and dust. This happens to be the first Vivo handset to feature that. And so you see, the Vivo X70 Pro+ will be the first in many aspects for the brand’s offering in India.
