Volkswagen India has revealed the key exterior design and features of its flagship Tayron R-Line seven-seater SUV ahead of its expected launch in the first quarter. The automaker will launch the SUV as a CKD (Complete Knock Down) unit,i.e., in a fully disassembled state. Putting the parts together in India will help Volkswagen price the Tayron aggressively.

The Tayron R-Line is based on the company’s MQB EVO platform, the one used on the Tiguan R-Line. The SUV will offer a wheelbase of 2,789mm (109mm longer than the Tigual R-Line) to accommodate the third row, and a boot space of up to 850 liters with the third row folded.
