Exterior

At the front, the SUV wears a high-set fascia with HD Matrix LED headlamps, a connected LED light bar, and an illuminated VW logo that makes an unmistakable night-time signature. The R-Line-specific bumper adds larger air dams, giving the SUV a more aggressive, road-focused stance.

From the side, the Tayron has a long, estate-inspired silhouette supported by a 2,789 mm wheelbase. The 19-inch ‘Coventry’ diamond-cut alloy wheels, gloss-black wheel arch detailing, and subtle silver trim along the window line add just enough sportiness without tipping into excess.

At the rear, two-piece wraparound LED tail lamps are connected by a full-width light bar. An animated illuminated VW badge and a sporty faux diffuser complete the look. It’s clean, premium, and unmistakably European.

The centrepiece is a 15-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, complemented by a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit. An Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD) projects navigation and driving data directly into the driver’s line of sight.

Volkswagen hasn’t cut corners here. The ergoActive Plus front seats offer 12-way power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and even a 10-chamber massage function. Additional features include panoramic sunroof, 30-color customizable ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, and an 11-speaker 700W Harman Kardon sound system.

The second row slides and reclines, making access to the third row easier and improving passenger comfort on long drives.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Powertrain

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line

The Tayron R-Line features a 2.0-liter TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine that produces 204 PS of peak power and 320 Nm of peak torque, paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

The numbers translate to serious real-world performance. The SUV accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds, with a top speed of 224 km/h. You also get six driving modes.

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • TPMS and ISOFIX mounts

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Rivals
