Finally, after a long time, WhatsApp unveiled the Edit Messages feature. As the name suggests, the feature will allow you to edit messages even after sending them. All WhatsApp users will have the ability to edit their sent messages for up to 15 minutes of time. This clearly means that if you type ‘dog bless you’, then you can simply make it ‘god bless you’ just before 15 minutes. However, one thing which you need to make sure of is that you will be supposed to identify and edit the typo before the expiry of the 15-minute window.

This feature will also help the users in correcting any kind of errors in their messages to add more context to what they are writing. This tool is going to provide high authority over the messages to the senders. In order to edit any sent messages, you just need to long-press it and tap the edit option from the menu for up to fifteen minutes after. However, in some cases, the users will be supposed to double-tap on the messages to edit them and rewrite or change them.

Are you getting WhatsApp calls from unknown international numbers? Beware!

The feature will be operated in different ways on both Android and iOS platforms. According to the official blog post of WhatsApp, the feature will only support 15 minutes in the beginning. Nonetheless, we can say that the time could get extended in the future in the same way the time for the delete for everyone feature was extended. Previously, the delete for everyone feature worked for a short time.

But, the time was extended to 60 hours due to the high demand for the feature. As of now, the feature is being rolled out for the masses, but it is still not available for everyone. WhatsApp has quoted in its blog post that the feature has started rolling out and will be available for all users in the upcoming weeks.
