The meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp has announced new backgrounds and filters for video calls. Although the feature already exists on other platforms, introducing them on WhatsApp, which happens to be one of the most popular products from the company, could help attract more users by making their video calls more engaging and fun.

More About WhatsApp Backgrounds And Filters For Video Calls

The new backgrounds for video calls will help users hide distractions behind them or keep their surroundings private. On the other hand, filters will help users “create a more playful atmosphere” during day-to-day conversations.

In total, there are 10 backgrounds and 10 filters to choose from. Further, users can also choose from a mix of options to create a unique look.

During a one-to-one or a group video call, hit the effects icon at the top right of the screen to open the selection of backgrounds and filters. Then, choose the one that you require, and the background/effect will be visible to everyone in the call. It is important to mention that the feature is currently rolling out, so it might take a while before it becomes available to you.
