OnePlus launched the 8T smartphone in 2020 and two years later, the price of the smartphone has been reduced to Rs.28,999 in the country. The smartphone comes with specs that are still relevant but there are still apprehensions about whether it should be purchased in today’s day or not.

OnePlus 8T Slashed Price

OnePlus 8T was launched for Rs. 42,000 in 2020. Last year, it received a price cut of Rs. 4000 and now after 2 years, the base variant (8GB/128GB) in Aquamarine Green color is being sold for Rs. 28,999 via the OnePlus official website. This can be a stock clearing sale too as the handset is not available in other storage configurations or colors.

Although when it was launched it packed 65W charging, Snapdragon 865 chipset, Android 11, and more, these specs are offered by almost all mid-range devices these days. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset will be easily outperformed by any latest Snapdragon 700 series processor. Nord 2 which launched for under 30,000 last year can easily beat 8T.

OnePlus 8T has already received the Android 12 update and will get Android 13 shortly. It is highly unlikely that the phone will get Android 14 as OnePlus releases 3 major software updates for each smartphone.

These are the reasons why the OnePlus 8T will not be a smart choice even at such a discounted price.
