Xiaomi brings Mi TV Stick to India at INR 2,799

Xiaomi has officially launched Mi TV Stick in India on August 5. Xiaomi’s stick can convert any TV with an HDMI port to a smart TV and will compete with Amazon Fire TV Stick in India.

The craze for online web series has been increasing and most budget range smart TVs have been predominantly dumb when it comes to app support. Xiaomi‘s Mi TV stick will serve as a low-cost option that fills the gap.

Mi TV Stick Price and Availability

Xiaomi has set the price of Mi TV Stick at Rs 2,799, which is significantly lower when compared to Rs 3,999 of Amazon Fire TV Stick. It will go on sale from August 7 at 12 pm through Mi online and offline stores, Flipkart, and to be soon via Mi partner stores.

Mi TV Stick Features

The Mi TV Stick gets a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor alongside ARM Mali-450 GPU, 1GB RAM, and 8GB inbuilt storage. The stick runs on Android TV 9 and supports Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac. The new device connects to the TV through HDMI port and charges with Micro-USB port.

The Mi TV Stick offers up to 1080p at 60fps video quality. It is preloaded with apps like Disney Hotstar, Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, Zee5, ALT Balaji, and other OTT platforms. The access to Google Play Store enables the TV Stick to run over 5000 apps. Xiaomi also claims to offer Google Data Saver mode.

The cuboid-shaped Mi TV Stick measures 92.4×30.2×15.2mm and weighs 26.8g wrapped in black color. For audio, Mi TV Stick supports Dolby and DTS Surround Sound. Google Assistant, built-in Chromecast, and dedicated keys for Netflix and Prime Video are among other features.
