Xiaomi Hypercharge tech recharges 4000mAh battery in just 8 minutes

Xiaomi has put out a tech demo of its latest innovation in fast charging technology which sets new world records for both wired and wireless charging speeds. Xiaomi posted a demo video showcasing both wired and wireless hyper chargers action. First, it plugged a 200W HyperCharge charger on a custom build Mi 11 Pro with 4000mAh which took just 8 minutes to take battery level from zero to a hundred percent. Similarly, the 120W wireless Hyper charger took 15minutes to fully refill a custom build Mi 11 Pro with 4000mAh.

While demonstration looks really impressive, Xiaomi is yet to reveal when it will 200W wired and 120W wireless HyperCharge tech on actual phones.

Over the years mobile phone battery charging speeds have come a long way. Chinese OEMs deserve the credit for most of it. Having said that, in recent years, brands have demonstrated dramatic breakthroughs but most of them yet to reach the end consumers. Several brands like Xiaomi, vivo, OPPO and Realme either showcased or teased a 120W faster charger.

If you recall, Xiaomi’s 10 Ultra had 120W wired charging support but it used to heat up during supercharging. It remains to be seen how Xiaomi handles heat produced by 200W wired charging, excess heat generation could be an even bigger problem.
