Xiaomi has added two new members to its Redmi 9-series – the Redmi 9C & Redmi 9A – which are both affordable options. The two phones feature similar specifications but have different chipsets and camera modules.

The launch from Xiaomi was followed quickly by Realme who introduced Realme C11 in the same price segment. The new Redmi 9-series smartphones are said to be siblings of previously launched Redmi 9 but none of the 9-series phones has yet been introduced in India.

On the other hand, the Redmi 9A settles with a lower grade MediaTek Helio G25 chipset and a single 13MP rear camera. The selfie camera has the same 5MP snapper.

The connectivity options in both the devices include dual SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a micro USB port. For security, Redmi 9C offers fingerprint scanner and face unlock while Redmi 9A limits to face unlock only. The new Xiaomi phones run on MIUI 11 based on the Android 10 operating system.
