Soon after Qualcomm’s announcement of Snapdragon 888, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had declared that Mi 11 will be the first phone to ship with a Snapdragon 888. Well, now in a recent post, the brand has teased the arrival of its upcoming flagship on December 28. The poster reveals the launch to take place at 7:30 PM (Chinese local time).

Here’s everything we know about the phone at the moment.

Xiaomi Mi 11: What we know so far

Mr. Lei Jun proclaimed Xiaomi Mi 11 as the world’s first Snapdragon 888 phone through a Weibo post. The new silicon is fabbed on a 5nm process and features a Cortex X1 high-performance core coupled with three Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. It also packs an Adreno 660 GPU and an integrated X60 5G modem. It claims to offer 25% faster CPU performance and 35% faster GPU graphics than Snapdragon 865.

Rest, from a recent Geekbench listing of a device codenamed M2011K2C, which is presumably Mi 11, we learned that the device will bring 12GB of RAM and Android 11 software. Further, digging down the MIUI 12 code hinted at the presence of a quad HD+ resolution display. Another exciting bit of detail is 120Hz on at least the Pro edition of the new Xiaomi flagship.

Speaking of which, you could expect two variants viz. Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro at launch. The Chinese 3C certification register informs us about Mi 11’s 4,780mAh battery and Mi 11 Pro’s 4,970mAh cell. It also mentions the support of 55W fast charging on these handsets.

Needless to say, most of these deets are still speculation, and hence take them with a grain of salt.
