Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro Goes Official with Quantum Dot OLED HDR10+ Display

Xiaomi had its product presentation event in Beijing today, wherein it unveiled the Mi TV 5 series alongside the Mi CC9 Pro and the Mi Watch. There are two new TVs in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch. The Pro-variant sports Quantum Dot display, HDR10+ support, and MEMC  technology. Rest, both the TVs shares the same spec sheet and features.

Xiaomi Mi TV 5, Mi TV 5 Pro specifics

Both the TVs have an aluminum chassis without any screw and are 5.9mm thick. On the front, you have a 4K (3,840×2,160 pixels) OLED display with 1.8mm bezels. The glaring difference between the two models comes in the display. The Pro one flaunts a Quantum Dot OLED screen boasting up to 108 percent NTSC colour gamut and support for HDR10+ and MEMC motion smoothening technology. The standard edition not just misses out on the said display technologies, it achieves only 85-percent NTSC color bracket.

Speaking of the differences, you get 3GB RAM and 32GB storage on the Mi TV 5, while Mi TV 5 Pro packs 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

So, with the disparities out of the way, both the TVs feature 8K video playback, Xiaomi voice assistant, Amlogic T972 SoC, and Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI. As for I/Os, you get Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, AV inputs, 4 microphones, and 2x 8W four-unit speakers.

Xiaomi Mi TV 5, Mi TV 5 Pro Pricing and Availability

Xiaomi has priced the Mi TV 5 Pro as follows:

  • 55-inch model: CNY 3,699 (around Rs. 37,200)
  • 65-inch model: CNY 4,999 (about Rs. 50,300)
  • 75-inch model: CNY 9,999 (around Rs. 100,500)

As for Mi TV 5, here’s how each of the sizes cost:

  • 55-inch model : CNY 2,999 (about Rs. 30,200)
  • 65-inch model : CNY 3,999 (around Rs. 40,200)
  • 75-inch model : CNY 7,999 (aboutRs. 80,400)

Xiaomi has announced the 55-inch and 65-inch models of both Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro to hit the stores starting November 11 in China. The company hasn’t spilled the beans on Indian availability.
