Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its two new foldable smartphones, the MIX Fold 4 and MIX Flip, with the latter being the company’s first foldable of its kind. Both devices are set to debut this month at the newly established Xiaomi Smart Factory in Changping, Beijing.

This state-of-the-art facility boasts a manufacturing capacity of tens of millions of units per year, which is astonishing. Spanning an area of 81,000 square meters, the factory can produce 10 million flagship smartphones annually.

Xiaomi has invested RMB 2.4 billion (approx. $330 million) into this factory. The company is proud of this milestone, with CEO and founder Lei Jun expressing great excitement for the upcoming devices.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, succeeding the MIX Fold 3, will also see a global release. As per recently leaked images, it will feature a quad-camera array on the back with Leica branding.

It is expected to be the thinnest foldable upon arrival, with a thickness of under 10 mm. This can possibly beat the upcoming HONOR Magic V3, the current thinnest.

The device will include a 1/1.55” wide lens with OIS, a 60 MP 1/2.8” 2x telephoto lens, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and a 10 MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. It will have an IPX8 rating for water resistance and a battery capacity of 5000 mAh or larger, with support for 67W fast charging.

The Xiaomi MIX Flip will also launch globally. It is expected to feature a triple-camera array, likely making it the first clamshell foldable with such a configuration. Further, the MIX Fold is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, like the MIX Fold 4.
