Xiaomi announced its lightweight AI-powered custom-made UI dubbed HyperOS in China earlier in October 2023. Last month, the tech giant announced a global rollout and today, we caught the official word from Xiaomi India confirming HyperOS debut in India marked as imminent.

The Chinese giant is gearing up for Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 series launch in India on January 4th. The phones have already made their debut in China followed by India this Thursday. It remains to be seen if these will arrive with the standard MIUI or if Xiaomi will upgrade them with HyperOS as they launch in the country.

Xiaomi announced a list of eight Xiaomi and Redmi phones slated to get their hands on HyperOS in Q1 2024. However, Xiaomi India’s CMO confirms that this year marks a landmark for Xiaomi India as there’s a ton of action on the table. It could be a reference to HyperOS’s arrival in the country. We are hoping it will arrive with the Redmi Note 13 series although we will have to wait for some time to get a clear picture. At the moment, there’s no update on the timeline and shortlisted models to get HyperOS once it arrives in India.

HyperOS from Xiaomi is its cutting-edge, clutter-free, lightweight custom UI based on Linux and Vela System – self-developed by Xiaomi. It is packed with AI features and works efficiently on phones with any RAM size, unlike MIUI which tends to process slower on lower RAM storage.

It brings a revamped control center, performance and security improvements, a dedicated TEE security system, a plethora of customization options as well as cross-device collaboration to name a few. The AI features include artwork creation and image search.

We are just three days away from the big launch i.e. the Redmi Note 13 series. We are hoping HyperOS India will make its appearance too although let’s keep our fingers crossed until it does.
