The festive sales are on and Xiaomi is set to rake in with the new Redmi 8 phone. The phone is already being teased on social media and has a microsite on Mi.com vaunting its battery and camera prowess. It is expected to ship with 4000mAh battery, a Sony primary sensor with the “industry-leading” edge detection and skin tone mapping. To top all the details, we have got hold of Redmi 8 renders a day before the formal launch thanks to @MadSimer, a twitter handle known for smartphone leaks.

Xiaomi Redmi 8 Renders: What to expect

As per the renders, the Redmi 8 will sport a V-shaped dot-notch up top and the display is enclosed in thick borders. The bottom chin has a Redmi branding.

The back has a familiar Aura Mirror design with a gradient finish. The renders reveal two colors – purportedly called Carbon Blue and Carbon Red. We have learned from the Mi.com microsite that the phone will feature a splash-resistant body.

At the back, you have an elongated vertical camera stack. The primary sensor is apparently a Sony one. Right underneath the cameras, there is a round capacitive fingerprint reader. Redmi branding is visible here as well.

As for the specs, rumors have it that the Redmi 8. could come with an HD+ display (720×1520 pixels) with 19:9 aspect ratio and 320ppi of pixel density. The phone is likely to be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC coupled with at least 3GB RAM. The smartphone is also speculated to run Android Pie with MIUI 10.0.1.3 on top and come in four distinct colour options, namely Ash, Blue, Green, and Red.

Besides the hues, we have seen in the above renders, the phone could be out in a Carbon Ash and Carbon Green color. The plastic chassis is easily a no-brainer. If the leaks are true, then the phone will come with USB Type-C and the Android 9 based MIUI software.

Internally, the phone is rumored to bear Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, which is seen within both the Redmi 8A and Redmi 7A. The phone is set to launch tomorrow, ie., October 9, 2019.

Once again, thanks for the tip MadSimar.
