Xiaomi held a grand launch event yesterday wherein the brand not only announced the flagship Xiaomi 15 Series of smartphones and HyperOS 2 but also showcased the next innovation in terms of SUVs. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra was launched as a competitor to Tesla with a top speed of 0 to 100km/hour in merely 1.98 seconds. It is the fastest four-door production car in the world that can accelerate from 0 to 200km/hour in just 5.86 seconds. The SUV can achieve a 100km/hour braking at a distance of 30.8m to come to a halt completely, claims Xiaomi.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is up for pre-orders in China and has a re-sale value of 814,900 yuan (Rs. 96,00,500 approx.). The SUV will officially be launched in March 2025.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: Features

Xiaomi SUV7 Ultra features an aerodynamic design with which it can achieve a downforce of 285kg, comparable to super-car level performance, the company says. The car takes 6 minutes 46 seconds and 874 milliseconds to complete a lap in the Nurburgring racing track making it the fastest four-door SUV in the world.

The interior features new sports seats with better active side bolster support to offer faster response and a wider support area for better body stability during intense driving. The steering wheel too has a new racing-style flat top and bottom design. It is made of upgraded carbon fiber wrapped in Alcantara microfiber fabric for a secure grip.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra comes with a large front splitter and air dam paired with “u-shaped” air blades boosting front downforce. There is an intake grille that has been expanded increasing the cooling area by 10%. The rear gets an active rear diffuser with two adaptive settings that can balance drag and downforce, ensuring low energy consumption in regular driving. There is a fixed fiber wear wing that has been added, with a wingspan of 1560mm and a chord length of 240mm to offer significant downforce at high speeds.

The SUV gets a yellow center marker at a 12-clock position to aid directorial control during high-speed maneuvers. It comes with yellow seatbelts and a red boost button on the steering wheel, while the interior is packed with a racing spirit.

The car has a triple motor system implemented with two V8s and V6s motors. It marks the debut of Xiaomi’s self-developed V8s super motor to production vehicles that can reach a maximum rev of 27,200 rpm, currently the highest and most powerful production main drive motor.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra comes with UI on the central control screen, along with an instrument panel and HUD that has been upgraded, featuring a cockpit-exclusive design for a sporty atmosphere. It offers three new Electric Sport Sound Profiles- Ultra Electric, Ultra Sonic, and Ultra Pulse, along with a 40W external speaker for enhanced sound projection.

The SUV has CATL’s Qilin 2.0 high-power battery, which can deliver a power output of 1330kW and a discharging power of 880kW even at 20% SoC. This battery uses LFP chemistry and supports 897V charging for a full recharge in under 12 minutes. The car promises a 630KM CLTC range on a single charge.
