In the first half of this year, China’s smartphone maker, Xiaomi forayed into electric car manufacturing by unveiling its first electric car, the SU7. Following that success, the company has now launched the SU7 Ultra, a track-only electric car with further improvements to the design, aerodynamics, and performance. Xiaomi plans to power this model to be the fastest 4-door electric vehicle, and the company intends on testing this in Nürburgring later this year.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Powertrain and Features

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype is built for hypercar with a supreme power output of 1,578 horsepower from three electric motors comprising of two V8s and one V6. By the company’s reports, such powerful motors allow the car to reach 100 km/h from standstill in approximately 1. 7 minutes and 17 seconds, moreover, its feature can reach 350 km/h.

Concerning braking, the SU7 Ultra has also outstanding characteristics in this aspect as well. It offers up tp 0. 6G regenerative braking and 2. 36G with physical brakes, the car halts from 100 km per hour in 25 meters. At the same time, the car is quite light for the premium C-segment – its weight is 1,900 kg. This eliminates the use of heavy metals and materials instead; carbon fibre is rife within the structure and frame of the car.

The battery pack information is concealed; however, it is said that the SU7 Ultra shall be supported by CATL’s Qilin II technology. This new battery is famous for charging at 0 to 100 percent in 12 minutes and produces over 1,072 horsepower at only 20 percent state of charge (SOC). On other note, Xiaomi unveiled recently the standard SU7 sedan in India, thus expanding its electric vehicle market in the region. The presentation of SU7 Ultra brings the Xiaomi plan about innovation and power to an ever-changing electric vehicles market.
