Earlier dubbed as 'Mercury', Keyone was brought out in front of the world at a pre-event launch at the ongoing MWC in Barcelona. Although the phone is designed by BlackBerry, a company called TCL is talking care of its manufacturing. The Keyone is also being regarded as the 'most secured Android phone yet', by the company, of course. Featuring an aluminum unibody supported by a soft textured back, the phone sports a physical QWERTY keypad, a feature customary to most smartphones devised by the company. There is a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1620 x 1080 in addition to the keypad and the processor used is a Snapdragon 625 one of Qualcomm make, which is coupled with an Adreno 506 GPU and 3 gigs of RAM. In-built ROM is 32GB while the OS is the latest Android 7.1 Nougat, which is there with an additional layer of customized patches and apps to go with it. The cameras in question are a 12MP one on the rear which has a Sony IMX 368 sensor having f/2.0 aperture, while the one at the front is an 8MP one with flash. Also, the Keyone features a 3,050mAh battery having provisions for QuickCharge 3.0.
