Vivo NEX is an interesting flagship phone that takes mobile innovation to the next level at a very nominal price. Modeled on the popular 'Apex' concept phone, the Nex leaves out the controversial notch and introduces a retractable front camera instead. Other features that were introduced by Vivo this time are in-display fingerprint sensor and new cooling system that, Vivo claims, will keep the phone’s processor from heating even during long operation sessions. The phone encases a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clocked up to 2.8GHz, aided by 8GB of RAM. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0 and sports a 6.59-inch screen with full-HD+ (1080x2316) Super AMOLED 'Ultra FullView' display feature and 19.3:9 aspect ratio. The phone is fueled by a 4,000 mAh battery unit assisted by a 22.5W charger that enables fast charging. Its front camera specifications include 8MP retractable camera with f/2.0 aperture, Portrait Bokeh, AR Stickers, and Face Beauty. A dual sensor camera combo of 12 MP + 5 MP with features such as f/1.8 aperture, 4-axis OIS, and dual-pixel tech for the superior camera and f/2.4 aperture. An LED fill light with two colour tones is placed below the dual rear camera. Connectivity options cover Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (with OTG capabilities), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Several other highlights like an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor, and a virtual gyroscope are also a part of this phone. The phone has dimensions of 162x77x7.98mm and weighs 199 grams. Only the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant of Vivo NEX has been made available in India. The storage is not expandable via microSD.
