2022 Kia EV6 GT Electric Car Spotted in India; Know more

Kia is gearing up for launching its first-ever electric vehicle Kia EV6 GT in India. While the company is yet to announce its India launch, the Kia EV6 car has been spotted in daylight on the roads of Hyderabad with a Tamil Nadu number plate. 

The spied image of the Kia EV6 has been shared by AutomobiliArdent. The electric crossover appears to feature a sharp streamlined body painted in a metallic grey shade. The South Korean brand introduced the Kia EV6 in the global market recently therefore, we have a fair idea of what to expect.

Kia EV6 GT electric car features (Global)

Kia is expected to borrow the E-GMP platform from the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq to build the Kia EV6 GT electric car. It is said to arrive in two battery-size variants including 77.4kWh and 58kWh. The Kia EV6 GT packing the bigger battery pack can produce a power of 576hp and a torque of 740Nm. It can accelerate to 100kmph in 3.5 seconds gaining a top speed of 260kmph.

The non-GT model offers two configurations comprising 229hp rear-wheel drive (RWD) and 325hp all-wheel drive (AWD). The RWD offers a mileage of 510km with an acceleration from 0 to 100kmph in 5.2 seconds. The 58kWh battery setup has the configuration of 170hp RWD and 235hp AWD taking 6.2 seconds to accelerate from 0-100kmph.

For charging the car, Kia EV6 arrives with 800V architecture that has the ability to charge the e-car in 18 minutes from 10 to 80%. It takes 4.5 minutes to juice the EV6 to run for a 100km of distance.

The Kia EV6 has been built on the company’s Opposites United design philosophy. It sports two angular large headlights with DRLs, Tiger Nose front grille, fog lights, and a ‘Kia’ logo on the front. At the back, the brake light is extended all across the width of EV6 with multiple LEDs. The roof spoiler provides an aerodynamic design including sloping C pillars and a swept-back windshield. The car has a large infotainment and instrument cluster inside.

While the official information regarding the launch of the Kia EV6 GT is awaited, the launch is anticipated to hold in June.
