April 2025 is going to be a hot month with regards to car and SUV launches in India. While luxury automaker BMW is gearing up to launch the 2025 BMW 2 Series, its most affordable sedan, Maruti Suzuki, is planning to unveil the e-Vitara’s prices and variants in the month. Then there are other renowned brands like Volkswagen and Skoda, which are planning to reveal new generations of their existing models.
Keep reading to learn more about the eight car and SUV launches that will take place in India this April.
Citroen Basalt Dark Edition

Most recently, Citroen teased a dark edition of the Basalt. The vehicle is already available in five colors, except an all-black variant, and the Basalt Dark Edition will fill that gap. All the vehicle’s exterior and interior design elements, including the front/rear skid plates, alloy wheels, and the interiors, will feature a blacked-out look.
The variant of Basalt base, the Basalt Dark Edition, is something we’re yet to know.

Tata Curvv Dark Edition

The Indian automaker Tata has already launched the Dark Edition variants of the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari, leaving Curvv from the mix. However, that should change soon, as the company is expected to reveal the Curvv Dark Edition by the end of this month.
Like other Dark Edition models, the Curvv Dark Edition will be a cosmetic overhaul, wherein the exterior and interior of the vehicle will feature an all-black finish. While this isn’t a major update, plenty of Dark Edition fans will appreciate the vehicle’s looks.
Apart from the new theme, everything else, from the powertrain options (including the turbo-petrol and diesel engine) to the features and variants, should remain the same. However, the Tata Curvv Dark Edition should cost around Rs. 30,000 to 40,000 more than the regular models.
Kia Carens Facelift

Until now, Carens has been a silent performer for Kia. However, the company clearly wants to draw more buyers’ attention toward the MUV, as it is dropping a facelifted version in April 2025. Reports suggest that Kia will sell both the current and next-generation versions via its showroom.
The 2025 Kia Carens will feature a new exterior design with a slightly taller bonnet and headlamps that look like the new Kia Syros. Spy shots of the vehicle have already surfaced on the internet, showcasing a partially-covered car with what looks like new 16-inch alloy wheels.
Although the updated Carens could retain the three engine options (NA, turbo-petrol, diesel), it should get a new dashboard with premium materials and newer buttons (somewhat like those seen on the Syros). The transmission options should remain similar as well.
With an expected launch in late April 2025, we might see an increase in the price of the upcoming Carens generation. The vehicle’s price could start from around Rs. 11 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara

The Maruti e-Vitara launch has been in the cards for months now. According to reports, the largest carmaker in India (by volume and sales) should launch its first fully electric vehicle in April.
First revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the e-Vitara has already arrived at a few selected dealerships across the country (videos of which have already started to show up on Instagram and YouTube).
Among the key highlights of the electric vehicle include a new, muscular design language with new LED DRLs (three-piece), 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, a redesigned dashboard with integrated screens, and two battery packs: 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh.
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara should provide a real-world range of over 500 kilometers with a larger battery pack. Regarding its price, the vehicle should start from an ex-showroom price of around Rs. 15 to Rs. 17 lakhs for the baseline variant.
Given that the vehicle measures 4275 x 1800 x 1635 mm, it competes directly with the Creta Electric and other popular offerings in the segment. Further, e-SUV will be exported to over 100 nations from the country.

New-Generation Skoda Kodiaq

Like Volkswagen, Skoda is also gearing up to reveal the next generation of its premium SUV, the Kodiaq. Although the company hasn’t confirmed a launch date, reports suggest that the vehicle could go official by the end of this month.
While the exterior design gets minimal updates, the company has focused more on the cabin and the interiors. For instance, there’s an all-digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, a floating infotainment screen, rotary dials, and leatherette upholstery (made from recycled polyester).
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq (like the Tiguan R Line) should get a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine that produces 190 hp of peak power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an all-wheel-drive setup via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Skoda could launch the 2025 Kodiaq at a price of around Rs. 40 lakhs (ex-showroom). More details about the SUV should appear on the internet in the coming days.

Next-Generation BMW 2 Series

Unveiled globally in October 2024, BMW’s entry-level sedan (costing around Rs. 46 lakhs ex-showroom) could also arrive in India soon. The next-generation vehicle offers significant external and internal changes. For instance, the iconic kidney-shaped grille on the front and the 18-inch alloy wheels are slightly changed.
Further, the vehicle is longer and wider than the outgoing generation. On the inside, the vehicle gets an overhauled cabin with a digital instrument cluster and ambient lighting. Under the hood, the car retains its 2-liter turbo petrol and 2-liter diesel engine options. Moreover, the sedan offers the right balance of elegance, style, features, and performance.
The 2025 BMW 2 Series could go official in India by the end of April 2025.
Volkswagen Tiguan R Line

Slated to arrive on April 14, 2025, as the most expensive Volkswagen SUV in India (as it could be a completely built-up unit), the Tiguan R Line is built on the regular Tiguan. However, it features some new design elements, like a curvy roofline, sleek IQ Light HD Matrix headlights, dual-tone alloy wheels, and dual exhausts.
The refreshed elements also run inside the cabin, as the vehicle gets a new dashboard with a floating infotainment screen and a large digital instrument cluster. Underneath the shiny exteriors, the vehicle will feature the same 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine (four-cylinder) that produces 190 PS of peak power and 320 Nm of peak torque.
The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Further, the vehicle will come in an all-wheel-drive configuration. In India, the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line could cost around Rs. 50 lakhs (ex-showroom).

While a sporty design happens to be the vehicle’s strong point, it features a 77 kWh battery pack with two motors that produce 510 hp of peak power and 725 Nm of peak torque (as part of an all-wheel-drive configuration).
Inside, the all-electric sports car offers a digital instrument cluster, multiple infotainment screens, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay options. While the all-wheel-drive MG Cyberster should go official in April, the company might also unveil the lower trim with a 64 kWh battery pack and rear-wheel-drive confirmation.
For now, the top-spec version could cost around Rs. 70 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India.
