TL; DR
- Indian students can claim a free year of Photoshop through Adobe’s own checkout.
- A ₹2 UPI payment activates AutoPay and starts the 12-month free period.
- The plan auto-renews at ₹1,999/year unless AutoPay is canceled before it ends.
Photoshop has long been one of Adobe’s subscriptions students want but hesitate to pay for. The company just removed that excuse. Eligible college students in India can now claim a year of Photoshop for free, without paying the subscription cost. And don’t confuse it with the company’s earlier institutional offer, as this one is fresh.

What This Subscription Actually Includes
This gets you the full desktop Photoshop app, not a trimmed mobile version. You’re signing up for the real subscription. It’s just the first year’s fee that is waived. Otherwise, this subscription costs ₹599 per month per Adobe’s current promotional offers.
It’s worth noting that this is separate from February’s Creative Cloud Pro offer. For those catching up, that only worked through accredited colleges contacting Adobe directly.
| Detail | What You Get |
| App | Full Photoshop desktop subscription |
| Cost for Year 1 | ₹0 (token ₹2 payment at signup) |
| Renewal Price | ₹1,999/year, standard rate |
| Separate From | Feb 2026 institutional HED offer |

How To Claim The Free Subscription
- Head to Adobe’s checkout page, enter your name and email, then pick UPI as the payment method.
- You’ll enter your college details at this step, then complete a ₹2 payment to activate UPI AutoPay.
- That tiny charge unlocks the twelve months: no bigger payment follows until the year is up.
Only one thing I’d flag here. That ₹2 charge sets up AutoPay. In other words, if you forget to cancel the mandate from the mode of payment, Adobe will automatically bill you ₹1,999 for the second year unless you cancel it yourself. Set a reminder a few weeks before renewal, head into your Adobe account, and switch off AutoPay if you don’t want the charge.
