Airtel Down: Airtel Internet faces major outage across India; Twiterattis mock it to be Promise Day Gift

Airtel users all across the country are facing issues with connectivity today. The popular telecom operator is one of the largest in India and its internet services going down caused an uproar amongst the netizens across the country.

Many users on Twitter claimed that not only mobile internet service, but broadband services and Airtel Thanks App had also stopped working for a while.

DownDetector showed that the outage was affecting many cities in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, and many more. However, some users were still able to access the internet but the speed was extremely slow. As soon as the outage happened, Airtel started trending on Twitter with #AirtelDown. Here are some reactions from Twitteratis who mocked Airtel calling the outage a Promise Day Gift.

However, as of this moment, the services are back online as Airtel itself tweeted this statement-

A similar outage was observed by Reliance Jio users earlier this month and all Jio users in the Mumbai circle faced a complete outage that lasted for hours.
