Amazon brings its most powerful Fire TV Cube streaming device to India; Available Now

Amazon has finally brought its Fire TV Cube (2nd Gen) streaming box to the Indian market. The Fire TV Cube is a union of Amazon Fire TV Stick and Echo smart speaker. The streaming box is a flagship offering from the company and it was first introduced in the US in 2019. 

Amazon Fire TV Cube Specs

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is designed in a cubical shape and is painted black all along its sides. It has volume control and mute buttons on the top with several port inlets at the back. It weighs 465g.

Being the most premium in the segment, the 2nd Gen Fire TV Cube offers 4K Ultra-HD streaming of the content. It supports major HDR standards including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG. The built-in 40mm speaker extends its support for Dolby Atmos technology and 7.1 surround sound.

The Fire TV Cube is equipped with a Hexa-core Amlogic S922X processor coupled with ARM Mali G52 GPU, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage. The device offers hands-free Alexa voice assistance to control the TV and compatible appliances like soundbars, A/V receivers, and cable set-top boxes. Note that the speaker is only meant to receive and respond to voice commands not to play music unless connected to an audio device.

The Cube has one Micro USB, Infrared, and HDMI ports each for physical connectivity. The wireless connectivity options are dual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. The box ships with a minimalist designed remote control featuring essential buttons and hotkeys for Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, and Netflix.

Amazon Fire TV Cube Price & Availability

Amazon has set the price of Fire TV Cube at Rs. 12,999 in India and has started the sale through its shopping platform. The device will compete against the newly launched Apple TV 4K which will retail at Rs. 18,999 onwards.
