Amazon Unveils Next-Generation of Kindles Including New Colorsoft Signature Edition

Kindles have become a very popular e-reading device around the world as they allow avid readers to take their reading material wherever they go, without any hassles. These lightweight, immersive, distraction-free free, and long-running reading devices offer access to lakhs of books in a single place. To take the e-reading experience to the next level, Amazon just unveiled its next-generation Kindle family which includes four Kindle e-readers.

The biggest change in this new generation is a shift from black-and-white to first color Kindle, which is being called Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. Other than the color edition, there are three other Kindles that form the latest e-readers family.

Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition

This Kindle reader is the highlight of the launch. It has been designed to offer a rich and paper-like color for book covers and highlighted text. This edition of Kindle is waterproof and comes with fast page turns, wireless charging, and up to 8 weeks of battery life. There is a new guide light too which is a nitride with LEDs. The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is priced at 279.99 USD and will ship from October 30 in the US.

Kindle Paperwhite 6

Kindle family also includes the Paperwhite 6 version which is a larger 7-inch screen Kindle with a thinner profile while sporting a battery life of up to three months. This Kindle is water-resistant and has 16GB storage. It costs 159.99 USD and will be available soon. There is also a Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition that costs 199.99 USD and has 32GB storage, wireless charging, and an auto-adjusting front light. The Kindle Paperwhite 6 comes in Raspberry Metallic, Jade Green Metallic, and Charcoal Metallic shades.

Kindle 12

This one is an entry-level Kindle belonging to the 12th generation. It weighs merely 159 grams and has a 300ppi non-reflective screen with faster page turns and 16GB storage. Kindle 12 is priced at 109.99 USD. It comes in a Matcha color variant.

Kindle Scribe 2

This new Kindle Scribe is the 2nd generation Scribe that comes with 300ppi and new white edges. The Kindle has a new ‘Active Canvas’ that allows you to add notes directly to the pages of books, and text flows around them. The users will also be able to add notes in the side panel soon and these can be hidden later. It is an integrated notebook that is infused with AI to summarize pages into concise points. The announcement mentions it is priced at 399.99 USD and will ship in the US from 4th December. It can be paired with a Premium Pencil with a soft tip eraser.

Amazon has also announced a special Kindle Kids and Kindle Paperwhite Kids Edition with unique cover designs like Space Whale, Ocean Explorer, and Unicorn Valley.

Amazon prematurely shared these Kindle e-readers only to remove it after a while. However, since it came from an official source the details are almost confirmed.

As of now, there is no information about when these new Kindles will come to India. We hope to hear more on this front soon.
