After a load of leaks and rumors, today, Apple has finally unveiled the AirPods Max. It is the brand’s flagship over-ear noise-canceling headphones. From the said speculatory sources, we have had a fair idea about the design of the product. Although now that it’s here, let’s take a look at the product.

Here’s everything you need to know about AirPods Max.

Apple AirPods Max

The AirPods Max sports a bespoke acoustic design, a 40mm driver system, the company’s in-house H1 chips at the core, and advanced computational algorithms at play. The result is high fidelity audio with “rich, deep bass, accurate mid-range, and crisp, clean high-frequency extension so every note can be heard.”

Apple has equipped the headphones with features like ANC, Adaptive EQ, Transparency mode, spatial audio, wear detection, automatic device switching, and audio sharing. Some of these goodies have been borrowed from the smaller AirPods. You get a “noise control” button to switch between Transparency mode and ANC. Apple has employed beamforming mics that should allay the noises and benefit during calls.

The cans’ top surface holds a Digital Crown, which “offers precise volume control and the ability to play or pause audio, skip tracks, answer or end phone calls, and activate Siri.”

The inner surface of the cans is made of breathable (also detachable) knit mesh that attaches magnetically. This material extends to the headband too. Inside the band is made of stainless steel and Apple claims this should offer “strength, flexibility, and comfort for a wide variety of head shapes and sizes.”

Further, in its press statement, the company underscores a revolutionary mechanism used in the construction of the band that “balances and distributes ear cup pressure, and allows it to independently pivot and rotate to fit the unique contours of a user’s head.”

Lastly, the AirPods Max bags a 20-hour battery life and support fast charging via Lightning cable. According to Apple, a 5-min top-up should warrant 90 mins of playback. The compatible “smart case” puts the headphones into an energy-efficiency state.

Apple AirPods Max Price and Availability

Apple AirPods Max is priced at Rs. 59,900 in India and will start shipping from December 15. It is currently available for order via Apple.com. You will get the Smart Case and a Lightning to USB-C cable in the box.
