Apple is all set to host the Glowtime Event tonight wherein the brand will launch iPhone 16 Series tonight. The iPhone 16 Series will include iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Other than the iPhone launch, there has been anticipation around Apple’s AI features that have been called Apple Intelligence. Earlier there was news that Apple will roll out most of its AI features along with the iPhone 16 Series, but the latest update is that Apple Intelligence isn’t coming today. Apple has decided to postpone its highly anticipated AI features as they feel AI push will take time to pay off.

The reasons behind the delay are several. One of them is Apple Intelligence, which isn’t fully ready as of now. The initial version which will come in October will also miss out on various major AI features. Another major reason for the delay is that Apple Intelligence won’t be available in Europe which is an important region for the company. It also won’t be ready for another big market in China.

One more reason that has led to the delay of Apple Intelligence is AI being new for maximum iPhone users. Apple believes that only a handful of iPhone users will be interested in exploring AI and using it. Others won’t have much to do with it and thus won’t understand the need for Apple Intelligence. It will take Apple months to explain the importance of using AI tech to all its users.

All these reasons have led to a month’s delay in the rollout of Apple Intelligence. Also when Apple Intelligence starts rolling out in October, it will be slow and staggered. The features will start rolling out as a part of iOS 18.1 updates in October. These were seen in the Beta version and include summary tools, writing tools, object remover, transcription tools, priority email tools, and more. New image generation features will be a part of iOS 18.2 which is scheduled for December 2024. It included Genmoji and more.

Also, OpenAI’s ChatGPT integration won’t become a part of iOS until December 2024. Siri is also expected to get a revamp in 2025. All these indicate how Apple isn’t in a hurry to roll out Apple Intelligence along with the iPhone 16 Series.

This means Apple will have a spread-out approach towards Apple Intelligence for the upcoming six months. By the time the company gets ready to launch the iPhone 17 Series in Sep/Oct 2025, it will be in a much stronger position in terms of AI.
