Apple has had a busy 2022 so far with the brand launching products like iPhone 14 Series, Watch 8 Series, iPhone SE, & more. But it looks like Apple is in no mood to slow down even as the year is coming to an end.

Reports claim that Apple is all set to host one more launch event on October 24 wherein it will launch iPads, Macs, and more. Even iPad OS 16.1 is all set for rollout on the same day. This year, Apple might make some announcements via press releases instead of an event. Meanwhile, read on to know what we can expect from Apple in the coming days.

1. New MacBook Pro

Apple announced a new MacBook Pro last year and following the trend, the company is expected to announce a new MacBook Pro model this year as well. The overall design is said to be the same but the focus will be on improving the performance of the device. This will be achieved by using new M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets that will give the new MacBook’s performance a much-needed boost. Both 14-inch and 16-inch models will be getting the performance upgrade. The price is also expected to get a hike.

2. M2 Mac Mini

Apple has been working on a new version of the Mac Mini with the M2 chip inside it. It is expected to have the same design as the current model. 9to5Mac reports that a new Mac Mini is in the works with 8 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. These Mac mini models would be the first updates to the most affordable Macs since M1 Mac Mini in November 2020. The new Mac Mini will have 4 Thunderbolt ports, 2 USB-A ports, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI port.

3. New iPad Pro

Some new updates for iPads are also in line. A new iPad Pro with an M2 chip is expected to be launched. The new iPad might get a slight design change as well. Bloomberg claimed that Apple has tested a redesigned iPad Pro with a glass back which would allow the iPad Pro to support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging for the first time. However, the latest reports say that Apple has scaled back its plans for an iPad Pro redesign. Instead of a glass back, Apple is planning a larger glass Apple logo that might support wireless charging.

Otherwise, the new iPad Pro will have an 11-inch display and might have dynamic island-like features.

4. iPad 10

A new version of the entry-level iPad is also expected. The current iPad model might be the last iPad in Apple’s line-up that will have a design with a Home button, large top and bottom bezels, and a lighting port. All this is set to change this year as the new iPad 10 might come with-

  • A new flat-edged design with no Home button/bezels.
  • Touch ID in the power button.
  • Repositioned FaceTime camera, located on the right side.
  • Lightning port replaced by USB-C for charging and data transfer.
  • 5G support for cellular connectivity.

Although this will bring the iPad closer to iPad Air, the major difference will lie in terms of performance as the new iPad 10 is said to be powered by an A14 chipset.

5. New Apple TV

There have been rumors about Apple coming up with a new TV throughout the year. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple is readying a new TV that will be cheaper to compete with others in the market. Bloomberg also claims that Apple is working on a new TV codenamed J255 with an A14 chipset inside it. These two can be entirely different Apple TVs with different features and price points. Let’s wait until 24th October to know more about these.

6. Mac Pro

Apple teased the Mac Pro powered by Apple Silicon at the end of its event in March when Mac Studio was introduced. The new Mac Pro is expected to come in 20 or 40 computing core variations, comprised of 16 high-performance or 32 high-performance cores and 4 or 8 high-efficiency cores. Mark Gurman has said that the new Mac Pro is not coming until 2023, but that doesn’t mean Apple can’t announce it this year.

7. Apple iPad OS 16.1

iPad OS 16.1 will be launched in the last week of October. This is because the company wants to make sure that there is no major bugs or problems. It is expected that the roll out will take place on 24th October as well.
