Apple’s 14-inch MacBook Pro With M4 Chip Unboxed: Look at Specs and Geekbench Scores

An alleged video of the 2024 M4 MacBook Pro has surfaced. Earlier, the box was leaked in a Facebook group, but now it’s been leaked by a Russian YouTuber, Wylsacom. This unboxing video is for the unannounced 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro, which seems to be a base model. It was first leaked by ShrimpApplePro on X, but now we have a full-fledged video. You can still find the 13-minute video on YouTube, where the YouTuber unboxes the M4 MacBook Pro.

In the video, the benchmarks for the M4 chip were also leaked. The M4 MacBook Pro scores 3864 in single-core and 15288 in multi-core on Geekbench 6. Compared to the M4 chip in the iPad Pro, the MacBook Pro scores higher. This M4 MacBook Pro is around 25% faster than the last generation, featuring a 10-core CPU, which is two more cores than the previous 8-core model.

The base model could come with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Another upgrade is that it now has three Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports—two on the left and one on the right. The ports are otherwise the same as last year. The size and weight also remain similar, and it supports 70W USB power, with a USB-C to MagSafe 3 charging cable included in the box.

Another notable update is the introduction of a new Space Black color. Previously, this color option wasn’t available for the base M3 MacBook Pro. However, there’s some uncertainty regarding the legitimacy of the leak because the M4 MacBook Pro features the same wallpaper as the M3 model.

According to Gurman, the M4 MacBook Pro is set to be revealed in late October, with a potential release on Friday, November 1. Apple is expected to hold an event in late October for the launch of new Macs and also new iPads. Stay tuned.
