Krafton has officially released Battlegrounds Mobile India on July 2, 2021. So, now all Android users can download the game from Google Play Store and enjoy it. No more need to be a tester or go through the lengthy process of downloading BGMI APK and OBB. Even Early Access participants can update the game to this official launch version. We have installed it on our phones and here we’ll be sharing the gameplay experience too.
Download Battlegrounds Mobile India
You can download the official public release of Battlegrounds Mobile India here. You’ll be directed to Play Store from where you can install the game. The minimum system requirements for BGMI are Android 5.1.1 or above and at least 2GB of RAM. And needless to say, the game will download over the internet. So, ensure you have either stable WiFi or ample Mobile Data on your device.
You can still continue as a tester or withdraw from the Early Release program whenever you wish. Also, now that the public release is here, you can update to that by uninstalling the testing version and installing the public version from Google Play Store.
Note: If you are getting the BGMI Early Release screen, just refresh or Force Stop and restart the Play Store. You should now see the BGMI official version, ready to install.
Although not required now, you can also download the Battlegrounds Mobile India APK (MB) and OBB (621MB) here. Thereafter place the OBB file within Internal Storage > Android folder > OBB folder. Install the downloaded BGMI APK and Open the game. It should run fine.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Release Date
Battlegrounds Mobile India’s public release for Android phones has begun on July 02, 2021, at 6:30 AM. If you have pre-registered already, you should be able to quickly install or even have it automatically install on your phone.
If you have opted into the testing program, it might take some hours before you get to download the public version.
Krafton has released Battlegrounds Mobile India for iOS. You can download it from the Apple App Store on your iPhone or iPad through this link.
Is Battlegrounds Mobile India Safe?
Some reports have surfaced alarming the likelihood of Battleground Mobile India’s user data being sent to servers in China, more precisely China Mobile Communications servers in Beijing. This is besides Proxima Beta (part of Tencent) in Hong Kong and Microsoft Azure servers in Mumbai, Moscow, and the U.S. Not just that, while booting, the game also shoots a ping to some Tencent server.
Now, Battlegrounds Mobile India’s privacy policy notes that “your personal information will be stored and processed on servers located in India and Singapore. However, we may transfer your data to other countries and/or regions to operate the game service and/or to meet legal requirements.”
This doesn’t look good as BGMI’s previous avatar PUBG Mobile had got banned in India along with 117 other Chinese apps stating an “emergent threat” for security. But Krafton claims that “in the event of transfer to another country or region, the company will take steps to ensure that your information receives the same level of protection as if it remained in India.”

You can log in to the game using Google Play Games, Facebook account, etc. The game also offers you an “Account Data Transfer” option that lets you carry over PUBG Mobile data. You can do this migration up till July 09, 2021. Also, it won’t bring over the in-game mails and attachments.
Within the game, you get to select between Low-spec (379.6MB) and HD (618.2MB) resource pack.

Before getting into the action, you can choose your character/avatar appearance, attire, etc. You can also go through a training session, if you want.
This time around, the game warns you of long-time continuous gaming by messages like this is a simulation and not real-world, asking you to take timely breaks, etc. The blood is also green now hinting at a safer gameplay environment. The main lobby and UI look like Global PUBG. The Friends List and Clans have gotten reset even after an account transfer. There are new maps that weren’t present in the pre-ban version. And as far as the gameplay is concerned, it feels very reminiscent of good old PUBG.
