X1 LWB: Key Features & Pricing
Priced ₹1 lakh below the standard-wheelbase X1 petrol’s ₹50.90 lakh, the X1 LWB is available exclusively with a 156hp 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, which produces 20hp more than the regular X1. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and is available only in a front-wheel-drive configuration.
It completes 0-100kph in a tested 9.58 seconds. Unfortunately, unlike the standard X1, there’s no diesel option here.

| X1 sDrive 18i | ₹50.90 lakh |
| iX1 eDrive LWB 20L | ₹52.70 lakh |
The X1 LWB is 116mm longer overall, with 108mm of that added purely due to the extended wheelbase. It translates to a redesigned rear seat with 15mm more seat-base length and a reclining backrest. On the feature side, the X1 LWB comes standard with the M Sport styling package, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon system.
However, it skips ventilated/massage front seats and rear climate zoning. BMW claims uniquely uncontested positioning here too, as there’s no direct rival, including the Mercedes GLA, Audi Q3, or Mini Countryman, that currently offers a long-wheelbase variant in this segment.

i5 LWB: EV Powertrain As Alternative To Diesel
Separately, BMW has opened bookings for the i5 LWB, its second Chennai-assembled EV after the iX1 LWB. The machine includes a 99-unit First Edition featuring a rear-seat entertainment tablet, bronze accents, and open-pore wood trim.

The standard eDrive 35L variant packs an 81.6kWh battery for a claimed 669km MIDC range. The motor produces 268hp, which enables a 6.7-second 0-100kph sprint. BMW positions the i5 LWB as a direct electric alternative to diesel in a segment where diesel has traditionally dominated.
