For years, night-time CCTV footage has looked like a scene out of a ghost movie, washed-out, black-and-white faces and glowing eyes, where every passerby looked suspicious. But what if your security camera could see in full color, even at 2 AM? That’s exactly what the CP Plus CP-Z43Q promises to do.

This 4MP Wi-Fi camera from one of India’s biggest surveillance brands doesn’t just claim to record color video in the dark; it also adds AI-powered motion tracking, two-way audio, and a motorized 360° view, all while staying under ₹5,000.

If you’ve ever browsed online for a new Wi-Fi camera in India, you’ve probably seen CP Plus pop up. The CP-Z43Q is their most popular consumer-grade model, and on paper, its specs are nothing short of impressive: sharp 2K video, “Full Color Night Vision,” app control, and live alerts on your phone.

But how good is it really? Is the night vision truly full color or just another marketing gimmick? Does the motion tracking actually work in a real home, or only in lab demos? And most importantly, can anyone in the family use it without calling the tech-savvy cousin?

We tested the CP Plus CP-Z43Q for a week across day and night, indoors and out. Here’s what we found.

Pros

  • Easy Installation
  • 4 MP (2560×1440) resolution for good image clarity.
  • Full-color night vision via white LEDs (8 LEDs, up to ~8–10 m).
  • IR night vision up to 15 meters
  • 345° pan and 70° tilt coverage, very wide field of view.
  • Motion tracking, human-body detection, motion alerts.
  • Two-way audio with built-in mic and speaker + siren
  • Video compression using H.265 for efficient storage.
  • Weather-resistant design (IP65)
  • Works with Google Home and Alexa

Cons

  • Supports only up to 256 GB microSD card storage
  • Wi-Fi is limited to 2.4 GHz
  • Max frame rate is only 20 fps at 4 MP,
  • Cloud storage (if you want online backup) requires a paid subscription.
  • Some slight artefacts in very bright or high-contrast lighting

CP Plus CP-Z43Q Review: Setup

The CP-Z43Q comes well-packaged, with the camera, power adapter, wall-mounting plate, screws, and a short setup guide. It feels surprisingly sturdy for the price, a glossy dome with smooth pan-tilt motion and twin LED spotlights up front.

App Setup

Setting up through the EzyKam+ app was straightforward. The camera connects via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, not 5GHz, so make sure you’re on the right band. Pairing took less than three minutes, just scan the QR code, connect, and you’re ready to view live footage.

Installation

You can either mount it on a wall or just place it on a shelf. The base is wide enough for stable desk use. Mounting outdoors may need a weather-protected area since this is not fully waterproof; it’s “indoor/outdoor in marketing, but think balcony, not rainstorm.

CP Plus CP-Z43Q Review: Recording

Daytime

In good light, the 4MP (2K) sensor delivers impressively crisp video. Faces are clear, even from 20 feet away, and color accuracy is solid. The dynamic range could be better; highlights tend to blow out under strong sunlight, but overall, it easily outperforms most budget 1080p cameras.

Nighttime

This camera’s headline feature is Full Color Night Vision, and it offers three modes to handle darkness:

Infrared (B&W)

When you turn off the spotlights, the camera defaults to classic black-and-white infrared mode. The image remains sharp and usable up to roughly 10–12 meters. You can easily identify people and movement — the IR LEDs are strong enough for small yards or hallways.

Full Color (Spotlight On)

Turn on the spotlights, and you instantly see the difference. Colors are bright, and the camera genuinely looks like it’s shooting during early evening, not pitch dark. Reds and greens look natural, not washed out. The dual LEDs don’t overexpose close objects — something cheaper cameras often mess up. This is one of the best night-color modes we’ve seen under ₹5,000.

Smart Mode (Auto Switching)

You can also leave it in Smart Mode, where the camera decides when to activate color vision. It’s hit or miss — sometimes the spotlights trigger too late. But when it works, it’s an ideal balance of discretion and visibility.

Pan & Tilt Performance

The CP-Z43Q offers full 360° horizontal rotation and 90° tilt, easily controlled from the app. Motion is smooth and surprisingly quiet. You can create presets (like “Door,” “Window,” “Balcony”) and switch between them instantly. It’s perfect for monitoring multiple angles in a single room.

CP Plus CP-Z43Q Review: Smart Features

The AI motion tracking feature works well most of the time. When someone walks across the frame, the camera quickly locks onto the subject and follows smoothly, trying to keep them centered. It occasionally loses track in dim light or if someone moves too fast, but for casual home use, it’s reliable.

Alerts

Push notifications arrive instantly on the EzyKam+ app when motion is detected no major delay. You can fine-tune sensitivity levels to avoid false alerts from pets or ceiling fans.

CP Plus CP-Z43Q Review: Audio and App Experience

Two-Way Talk

The built-in mic and speaker are surprisingly loud. During tests, we could clearly talk to someone standing near the camera from a different room. The voice clarity isn’t as rich as a phone call, but for door or baby-room communication, it’s perfectly usable.

EzyKam+ App

This app is the control center and it’s good. It loads quickly, live feed starts in about two seconds, and you can control everything from motion zones to video quality.
Playback is functional recorded clips are easy to scrub through, though it would be nice to have faster 2x or 4x playback speeds. The app also supports cloud storage and microSD card recording (up to 256GB), giving flexibility on how you save footage.

Review Verdict: Should You Buy the CP Plus CP-Z43Q Wifi Camera?

The CP Plus CP-Z43Q feels like a well-thought-out budget Wi-Fi camera. The Full Color Night Vision actually works, the app is reliable, and the motion tracking makes it more than just a passive recorder.

It’s not perfect, the Smart Mode could use tuning, and outdoor weatherproofing remains questionable. But for around ₹5,000, it’s easily one of the best home security cameras you can buy right now in India. Since it’s an Indian brand with its manufacturing also based in India, you don’t have to worry about your privacy concerns.

If you’re looking for a budget smart camera that doesn’t cut corners on core performance and want to see what’s happening in real color, even at night the CP Plus CP-Z43Q is a bright spot in a crowded market.
