Nearly a month after its official launch, Nothing has apparently changed the specs of its first smartphone on the website. A debate has sparked about the actions of the company which has seen mixed reactions from people.

Nothing Phone 1 was earlier publicized as a device with 1200 nits peak brightness while viewing HDR content. The feature was then seen as a great addition to the mid-range smartphone. However, now it seems the reality is totally different as the brand has changed its promotional campaign. This has happened after numerous users pointed out that the device never peaked at 1200 nits brightness.

Tech portal ComputerBase claims that the Nothing Phone 1 never offered 1200 nits peak brightness. They justified this claim by sharing screenshots of Nothing’s website post that shared the specs during the initial advertising and what it shows now. Currently, the site shows 700 nits peak brightness and this has made people question the ethics of the brand.

Nothing Phone 1 Specs

Nothing Phone 1 is powered by a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset and sports a 6.55-inch OLED display with HDR10+ and, a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone comes in white and black colors and have 3 storage variants to choose from- 8GB/128GB- Rs. 32,999, 8GB/256GB- Rs. 35,999 and 12GB/256GB- Rs 38,999.
