vivo, known for its solid foundations in the mobile photography space, has consistently offered top-tier hardware with its X series flagships. Traditionally, vivo’s most ambitious and superior “Ultra” models have often remained exclusive to the Chinese market.
However, with the vivo X300 Ultra, the top-end model of the recently introduced vivo X300 series, this situation could change entirely. The device’s detection in the GSMA database with an unusual model number provides the first strong evidence that this photography powerhouse might be heading to the global arena.

The vivo X300 Ultra may be coming to the international market
The vivo X300 Ultra was spotted in the GSMA IMEI database with the model number V2562. This number carries a significant clue regarding the device’s potential global reach. Traditionally, model numbers for vivo phones launched exclusively in China and those made for the Global markets have a slighlty different model codes on the GSMA records. The appearance of a model number like V2562 suggests that vivo may be planning to introduce this Ultra model to international markets.

The vivo X300 series currently consists of the X300 and X300 Pro models. Should the Ultra model also launch globally, it would signify vivo entering a more aggressive competition with rivals like Samsung and Xiaomi in the ultra-premium segment.
Revolution in Photography: Dual 200 MP sensors
The biggest driver of anticipation for the vivo X300 Ultra is the device’s potentially groundbreaking camera system. Leaks suggest that the X300 Ultra will be the world’s first smartphone to feature two 200MP camera sensors on its rear. This incredible hardware is rumored to be used for both the main camera and the periscope telephoto lens.
- Main Camera: The primary wide-angle sensor is expected to boast a 200 MP resolution, utilize a large Sony sensor (approximately 1/1.1-inch in size), and offer a focal length equivalent to 35mm.
- Periscope Telephoto Camera: The device’s second 200 MP sensor is reserved for the periscope telephoto lens. This lens is rumored to offer a focal length equivalent to 85mm.
- Auxiliary Cameras: In addition to this impressive setup, the vivo X300 Ultra is expected to feature the same 50 MP ultrawide-angle lens. The front camera is expected to be a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus.

Performance and Software
The vivo X300 Ultra is expected to deliver top-tier performance to support its demanding camera capabilities. It is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
On the software side, given that the other models in the series, the vivo X300 and vivo X300 Pro, were launched with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, it is highly probable that the Ultra model will also ship out of the box with the very latest Android 16 operating system.
Possible Launch Timeline
If this GSMA data is correct, the X300 Ultra is set to hit global markets by the end of Q1 2026, following an anticipated January 2026 launch in China. This timing sets up a major flagship battle, placing the vivo in direct competition with the likes of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, OPPO Find X9 Ultra, and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra.
