TL;DR
  • India launch scheduled mid-February under ₹55,000.
  • V70 Elite features flagship Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
  • Faster ultrasonic fingerprint sensors coming to V-series.

vivo’s V-series has always been about two things: slim designs and cameras that make you look better than you actually do. But for 2026, it looks like the company is significantly boosting what’s under the hood.

Just days after we broke the news on the Vivo V70 series’ India launch timeline, a new tip from industry insider Yogesh Brar suggests a major shift in strategy. The upcoming lineup—specifically the Vivo V70 Elite—is reportedly ditching its “style-over-substance” reputation for some serious flagship-level silicon.

The Snapdragon “Elite” Shift

The star of the show is the vivo V70 Elite, which is set to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This is a major milestone for the V-series. While these phones typically stick to mid-range chips, the 8s Gen 3 is essentially a “flagship-lite” processor. Early benchmarks show it hitting an AnTuTu score of approximately 1.89 million, which is more than enough to handle high-end gaming and heavy AI multitasking.

Meanwhile, the standard vivo V70 isn’t being left behind; we have learned that it will debut with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, ensuring the base model stays snappy for daily tasks

Faster Storage and More

Performance isn’t just about the processor. In a much-needed upgrade over previous generations, both the V70 and V70 Elite will feature UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5X RAM. This combination guarantees faster app loading, smoother multitasking, and improved power efficiency.

Another standout feature making its way to the series is the 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor. Unlike traditional optical sensors, this tech uses sound waves to map your fingerprint. The result? Faster, more secure unlocking that works even with wet or greasy fingers.

Vivo is also packing a 4D game vibration setup into the V70 Elite, making it a one-stop product for both photography and gaming. Both devices will debut with Vivo’s latest OriginOS 6 out of the box.

Pricing and Availability

While official confirmation from Vivo is still pending, our source tells us the V70 series is expected to be positioned competitively in the sub-₹55,000 category. This puts it very close to the premium ‘X’ series. With the “Elite” branding and flagship-grade specs, Vivo is clearly targeting the premium segment currently dominated by OnePlus and Samsung.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the official mid-February launch window.
