G-SHOCK, the brand that arguably made an entire category of ultra-durable timepieces, has now brought in newer timepieces to India. The collection includes the GA-2100RL-1ADR, GA-110RL-1ADR, DW-5600RL-1DR, and DW-6900RL-1DR.

Each model takes a popular retro G-SHOCK design – the modern octagonal GA-2100, the bold GA-110, the timeless square DW-5600, and the DW-6900 – and adds a flair to them with the distinctive red, blue, and yellow accents. G-SHOCK states that these colours carry specific meanings: red for passion and challenge, blue for water resistance, and yellow for shock resilience – a homage to the G-SHOCK philosophy.

Modern Takes on Iconic Forms

The GA-2100RL-1ADR brings the heritage colours to the immensely popular, slimmer octagonal “CasiOak” design. It uses the Carbon Core Guard structure for toughness without bulk and utilizes bio-based resins on the case. The design further reflects on the brand’s commitment towards sustainability alongside durability. The watch also comes with features like world time and LED backlight, positioning it as a versatile daily driver.

For those preferring a more substantial presence on their wrist, the GA-110RL-1ADR reimagines the large-case GA-110. Its dynamic, multi-layered dial gets the retro colour treatment, while the case structure promises the robust shock, magnetic, and 200-meter water resistance G-SHOCK is famed for.

The DW-5600RL-1DR is perhaps the most direct link to the past, applying the colour scheme to the classic square case that started it all. It maintains the retro aesthetic but includes modern upgrades like a powerful Super Illuminator LED backlight and eco-conscious bio-based resin construction.

The model in the list is the DW-6900RL-1DR, based on the iconic “three-eyed” design that has found favour in street culture for decades. Instantly recognizable, this model also incorporates bio-based resins and G-SHOCK’s signature shock resistance, blending its pop-culture status with the brand’s earliest colour identity.
