TL; DR
  • S26 Edge could get a 4400 mAh battery upgrade.
  • Ice Universe says this will be possible due to a new battery material technology.
  • Despite getting a battery bump, the S25 Edge is reportedly getting even thinner.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge didn’t exactly win over fans that much, especially when it came to battery life. Some users were fine, but many kept saying their phones couldn’t even last till 3 PM. The problem was a tiny 3,900 mAh cell trying to power a device with top-tier specs. But that’s changing.

Now, rumors suggest Samsung has finally learned its lesson. If things go as expected, the Galaxy S26 Edge might launch with a 4,400 mAh battery. That alone could be a game-changer. After all, if the Fold 7 is giving solid screen-on time with the same battery, and it’s powering two displays, then the S26 Edge should definitely do better, right?

What makes this even more interesting is Ice saying that the phone is getting thinner. That sounds impossible at first thought – how do you make a thinner phone and still add more battery? But Ice suggests that Samsung will be using a new battery material technology to achieve this. This could be Silicon Carbon, or something similar.

Ice Universe hasn’t revealed the exact details, but it’s clear Samsung wants to fix one of the most complained-about issues about the S25 Edge. The S26 Edge is expected to go official next year, alongside the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the new S26 Pro.
