Google announced the date of its annual I/O 2025 in February 2025, confirming that the developer conference will take place on 20th May. As the countdown to I/O 2025 gets closer, Google has shared the entire list of sessions that will be a part of the event. The official Google I/O website reveals the official list of sessions, giving an idea of what to expect. The highlights include Material 3 Expressive, Gemini’s Integration into Android Auto and Automotive, Android XR, and more.

Google I/O Sessions List

The I/O 2025 will begin with the Google Keynote kicking off on 20th May at 10:00 AM PT.  

The developer keynote will take place on 21st May at 1:30 PM PT.

  • The first session will focus on ‘What’s new in Android’ at 3:30 PM PT. This session will explore new Android 16 features and the future of Android development. It will include the creation of delightful, high-quality apps for all form factors and the latest APIs for integrating AI experiences in your app.
  • The second session will focus on ‘What’s New in Android Development Tools’ at 10:00 AM PT on 21st May. The session will explore what’s new in Android studio for android app makers. There will be live demos and presentations of relevant features to accelerate workflows.
  • The Third session will focus on ‘Adaptive Android Development’ at 11 AM PST on 21st May. It will include why and how to build apps and games that create delightful experiences across device ecosystem- including phones, tablets, foldables, Chromebooks, cars and XR.
  • The fourth session will focus on ‘Accelerating Smart Home Innovation with Home APIs’. It will be a technical session exploring Google Home’s latest developer tools and technologies for building innovative and engaging smart home experiences.
  • The fifth session will focus on ‘Android accessibility updates’ with focus on features and APIs for both users and developers. Updates to products like Talkback and Live Captions and best practices for developing more accessible apps, and explore accessibility API changes in Android 16.
  • The sixth session will focus on ‘Best Practices for using web in Android apps’ with a focus on introducing an opinionated stance from Android and ChromeOS.
  • The seventh session will focus on ‘Build more accessible UIs with Jetpack Compose’ with focus on building inclusive and accessible apps with powerful Jetpack Compose APIs and tools.

  • The eight session will focus on ‘Build Next-Level UX with Material 3 Expressive’ with focus on levelling up user experience and get a jump on the future of Google’s UX design. You will learn how to use the new emotional design patterns to boost engagement, usability and desire for your product.
  • The ninth session will focus on ‘Building differentiated apps for Android XR with 3D content’ focusing on Jetpack SceneCore and ARCore for Jetpack XR, and guide developers through the process of adding immersive content such as 3D models.
  • The tenth session is titled ‘Demystify KMP builds and structure’, focusing on sharing business logic.
  • The eleventh session is being called ‘Discover the latest Google Pay & Google Wallet Features’ focusing on updates that will help you increase sales while lowering your costs, with lower fraud risk and broader payment choices.
  • The twelfth session is being called ‘Engage Users on Google TV with excellent TV apps’ which will help you know how Google TV is making it easier for you to engage with our growing user base.
