As you know, the Pixel lineup of smartphones is meant as Google’s flagship series although it hasn’t been the case always. Still, a lot of Android enthusiasts keep them on a pedestal for they bring about the latest and greatest in stock Android. Pixel series has been popular for their unbloated, easy-to-use implementation of Android as well as their great camera system, and carrying this legacy forward, Google announced two new models Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro a few weeks back. They were said to be launched during the ‘Later this Fall’ period. And well if the rumours are to be believed, the launch could take place on October 28.

Earlier the rumours said that the Pixel 6 series might be launching on September 13 (also the date for Apple’s big iPhone 13 launch) or a day before that, but seems like the new leaks state otherwise. A fresh report from Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech suggests that the Pixels would be released on 28 October, with their pre-orders starting from October 19.

Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro: Everything we know so far

Since their announcement, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have been in the news for their new Tensor SoC, the new design, an in-display fingerprint sensor, their camera specs, and expectation. There is a huge ‘camera bar’ that runs along the full width of the phones with a barely raised metal rail to protect the glass from scratches.

Pixel 6 Pro will have a 6.7-inch OHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate while regular Pixel 6 has a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate.

There will be a memory difference between both the phones too along with a slight tweak in colour options. Pixel 6 Pro will be available in three staid colour options while Pixel 6 has two more fun colours to choose from. The base 6 Pixel will have a matte aluminium finish while the Pro 6 has a shinier polished aluminium finish.

Also, whereas Pixel 6 has two cameras (wide and ultra-wide), Pixel 6 pro adds a telephoto zoom lens to the mix.
